Q: Lateral Internal Sphincterotomy surgery after fissure your experiencecs?
Has anyone had a chronic fissure that was treated by surgery. Please tell me your experiences (good or bad) after surgery. After the surgery how long did you have unbearable pain.
I need to undergo this surgery as well.

A: I have no experience of this, but just thought I’d sympathise at the thought alone makes me shudder.

Good Luck.

Q: How good is laser surgery of piles/fissure?
I have piles since childhood when I was only 5-6 yrs old. Some how it was cured(not fully). Now I am 28yrs old. Some times I see blood during bowel. Now days a small external portion has come out (thrombosed). I have checked with several doctors, they advised me for surgery. I am affraid of regular hand surgery. I have controlled my diet and nowdays feeling better. Today I checked with one laser surgeon, he found that I have two piles (7 and 11 o’clock position) and one fissure. He advised me to do laser surgery, which will take 10-12 minutes and I will be able to do regular work after the surgery. This surgery is quite expensive (Rs. 12000/).
What should I do?

A: I would go with the advise of the doctors and be through with this.

Q: Recovering from anal fissure surgery?
I’ve done an anal fissure surgery 2 months ago & i feel much better now.
After the 1st month the pain was gone but the wound was always leaking or excreting some fluid and i always felt itchy. I went to the surgeon and he said that the wound did not close completely and will take some time.
Now after 2 months have passed i still have both the symptoms ( excretion & itching )

Is that normal ?

Thanks a lot.

A: Yes. It takes forever for a fissure to heal because you are always passing stool over it. The best thing you can do is to keep your bowel movements as soft as posiible with a stool softener so that you never have to strain to have one. Also, if possible do sitz baths several times a day to keep the muscles back there as relaxed as possible.

Q: i want to avoid anal fissure surgery. is it possible to cure it without surgery?
i need help, my doctor says i need surgery but im not prepared for it coz i underwent hernia sergery 7 months bak, care to reply plz

A: Say no to surgery and do this seriously according to the duration stated and you will start to feel the body curing itself.
You need to help your body to build up your immune system. The breathing exercises – pranayam is a holistic approach creating extra oxygen supply in the body and will slowly help with the health problem.Do the pranayam to see the benefits.Build up your timing slowly and after two weeks at the suggested duration you will start to notice benefits.

Bhastrika – Take a long deep breath into the lungs(chest not tummy) via the nose and then completely breathe out through the nose.Duration upto 5 minutes.

Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for upto 30 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

Anulom Vilom – Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed deep breath-in through right nostril
then – close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day(maximum 60 minutes in one day).
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.
Duration : 5 to 10 times
—-
Only by doing you will benefit and will feel good that you can do something to help the body.Copy and print this to master the technique. This is simplified pranayam for everyone and you do not have to go to classes to learn. This is for life unlike short term classes where you do it in the class then stop when classes are over.

A: jeesch
i would hope that your doctor would give you a clue to that question?

Q: for a 12 year old chronic anal fissure,is surgery necessary?

A: This thing has been around for 12 years and your are asking if surgery is necessary????

Q: hi, i went through anal fissure surgery 2 years ago. now i have a similar feeling, pain in my anal canal.?
i took a course of antibiotics, but i feel the infection is still there. i dont have any symptoms like fever or swellings in the butt area or vomiting. i might be just over reacting about this as i have been through this before and it is terribly painful and dont want to go through surgery again. but there is some pain that i cannot ignore. please help me. thanks.

A: my son goes thru this about every three years, or did. Then a surgeon opened him up and cleaned out the fissure thoroughly and he has now been symptom free for six years. Suggest that you find a surgeon that knows what he is doing.

Q: After Anal Fissure Surgery?
I had my surgery for my fissure on Tuesday. They also cut out 2 hemorrhoids. I still have not had a bowel movement but I am having some spasms down there that hurt worse than the actual fissure did! Is it going to be even more painful when I do actually pass a stool?

A: the medication they give you for this surgery causes severe constipation, and you really have to take things like metamucil daily, prune juice and ALOT of water. if you don’t, you could damage the surgery area when something does happen. it has been almost a week so this is too long. the spasms are your system trying to move again.

have some hot baths and massage your abdomen in clockwise circles

Q: Anal fissure and surgery?
I believe I have an anal fissure. Currently I do not have medical insurance but need to have this looked at and cleared up as soon as possible because it is very much so interfering with my everyday life. Has anyone had the surgery “lateral internal sphincterotomy”? Or know how much it would cost without any medical coverage? Thanks!

A: You have tear along the lining of your anus which is painful especially when you go number 2. This is a problem because when you go number 2, it hurts and the circular muscle(sphincter) contracts instead of relaxing making the pain worse and the tear worse. Thus it will not heal and the cycle goes on. The operation “sphincterotomy” cuts the muscle to break the cycle. If you want to cheat your surgeon and the hospital out of their fees and get well, I have a suggestion. In the old days(prior to modern surgery) this problem was treated with anal dilatation and just as effective. No, nothing stupid or sexual. I will not go into the details since I will be censored and you can read it on the Internet. Good luck…..you can do it.

Q: Anal Fissure surgery?
What is the feeling after the first day of surgery of anal fissure

A: Do You Have Anal Fissure
But, before we begin, let me first introduce myself. My name is Tina M. Bryant and, like you, I used to have an anal fissure.

I can still remember the first time I noticed blood in the toilet. It really scared me, as I’m sure you can imagine. Blood coming from the anus is not a good sign – you don’t have to be a doctor to know that.

Q: Is chronic anal fissure surgery an outpatient surgery? and is it really painful?

A: Hey i know this is a touchy situation but yes I believe it is an outpatient surgery. I just recently had an anal fissure removed. I got it because of a really hard labor that I went through. Apparently I tore my insides out trying to give labor. It is painful for a little bit after wards but not that bad because they give you really good pain killers. Make sure you sit on an ice pack for awhile after the surgery though and you will definitely want laxative. I know it sucks but believe me it will makes things a whole lot easier. Good luck. : ) It will be over before you know it.

Q: What is the treatment of anal fissure (a cut or wound in anus or rectum) besides surgery.?
I have anal fissure for last two years. I feel severe pain and burning during and after bowel movement which remains from few minutes to few hours sometimes. I have applied several creams, ointments, herbal ointments but no benefit. I have also chronic constipation. I also eat vegetables, drink lots of water, take fibre but no benefit. Please help I shall pray for this forever.

A: I feel your pain- been there and it’s horrible. the constipation will unfortunately make you strain for bowel movements and will not help the area heal. Take laxatives to soften your stools because as long as the constipation is there the fissure will not get better. Keep using creams- prep H is a good one and can help soothe the area. I found baths helped a bit as did using lubricant when I had a bowel movement. I also used cold compresses on the affected area. Cold worked for me but I have heard that heat can also help. However, I would recommend seeing a doc. 2 years is a long time to suffer this and it must make you miserable- I remember crying over the pain sometimes and it really got me down.

Q: anal fissure surgery, how long does it take to heal completely?
i did an anal fissure surgery 2 weeks ago and im still in pain sometimes, would it ever heal?

A: If you are talking about anal fissure surgery, then as long as it takes for the sutures to close it up. As long as you keep it clean, it will heal well.

Q: Anal fissure – surgery needed?
I had some issues about 15 years ago with a thrombosed hemmorhoid and an anal fissure.I had a lot of blood during BM so I knew something was wrong…I had an outpatient procedure done and everything has been ok since. A week ago I started have mild stinging and burning pain during my BM but no blood whatsoever. Pain did not go away so I went to a rectal surgeon in a large colon and rectal group of physicians here in Atlanta. He could not really look inside but thinks I may have an absess…and that the antibiotics might make it go away. Its been a week and its no better. It feels like a fissure because of the burning. He mentioned I may have to have surgery but is that a little extreme considering I have no blood in my stool? I know one thing, the pain is still there on every BM. Each day, every BM takes at least an hour. I’m using mineral oil and drink 1.5 gallons of water a day…I am pretty fit do to running and triathlons. I want the pain to go away but dont want surgery!
Butterflygirl, I would be happy to let you know how the procedure goes if I end up having it. I need to get it addressed so I will know very shortly whether or not I will have to have surgery. You and your husband are welcome to email me to stay in touch if you like. If it would help your husband I am all for it. I think you can access my email somewhere maybe by clicking on my name – TB1836…if not just respond below and I will post my email on here.

A: My husband has been dealing with this for a few months now. He’s a really hard worker and nothing slows him down…. so, he doesn’t keep still long enough for it to heal. He will get to feeling better, and then he’ll work building our barn and then he’ll re-agrivate it. One thing that helps him is drinking prune juice, staying away from peanut butter, tomato skins and whatever else he has deemed to agrivate it, and also taking Fen LB (which is a lower-bowel formula – see herballegacy.com or call the School of Natural Healing)

Also, he has no blood, just pain and he can’t sit very long. He’s been confirmed by the doctor that it’s an anal fissure… he’s getting to the point that he’s just going to go ahead and have the surgery and be done with it. My grandfather said he had the surgery when he was younger and two days later was riding a horse. Which makes me wonder why you don’t want the surgery? For someone who will be going through it soon, it would be nice to have a heads up if it’s not so simple as it sounds.

Q: Anal fissure surgery, tailored sphincterotomy?
I have a chronic anal fissure going on 6 years. I am 29 year old female and am now pregnant. Until about 6 months ago I had little to no problem with this. I saw my doctor several years ago when it first started they tried me on Nitroglycerin cream, multiple home remedies, changing my diet and nothing worked. My doctor then told me that he would not recommend surgery because a lateral sphincterotomy to correct the anal fissure can have many risks involved including inability to keep gas in and losing control of your bowels completely. Over the last 6 months I have developed a skin tag covering the fissure that is getting larger and very painful. And now that I am pregnant I have developed horrible constipation which is exacerbating the problem and causing me daily aching pains. I am wondering if anyone has had a newer less invasive surgery called a tailored sphincterotomy to correct an anal fissure, and if so what you thought of this procedure and how you are today. I am going to speak to my OB on mynext visit to talk about this problem as well. I just wanted to get some other feedback from anyone that may have had experience with any kind of surgical intervention for an anal fissure. I appreciate any comments.

A: follow this method for onemonth.. you will be cured…
holistic healing method..
when the body is having a disease, the patient should not be given a nutritious food… he should be asked to fast for 7 or 10 day… but he can take unlimited fruits(not sweet) and uncooked vegetables…that is why , patients are asked to stop so many negative foods …all high nutritious foods are negative foods for sick people…

sages consider water and uncooked vegetables as gods…by taking daily ,2 or three coldwater headbaths, you will be incresing your disease… yes, you are correct… by increasing or aggravating the disease, we can throw out the disease…
